The story
Michael Seaton and I visited the Amon Carter Museum in Ft. Worth while he was participating in the Futurity (Cutting Horse Competition) in 2021. Covid was rampant, and we had to wear masks, but we had the whole second floor to ourselves, where all the Remingtons and Russells hang. A panoramic steer roping artwork by Charles Russell was titled, “Tight Dally, Loose Latigo.” —Meaning a saddle is about to be separated from the rider. On the way home it hit me. That is what I would call the gallery.
